Taxation laws change frequently. Donating in a will represents many advantages for an individual or company. For example, you may be able to leave even more money to your loved ones if you donate to a charity, since the revenue in capital is calculated differently.

With a will registered with a notary or lawyer and with the help of your financial advisor, you can:

In the fiscal year of the death, the donation limit is 100% of the net revenue. Any non used amount can be applied retroactively to the past years, in which case the limit of the donation is 100% of the net revenue for each specific year.

A donation in a will is an easy way to donate to an organization for which you care. No matter what is the value of your estate, you can leave some amount to our charitable mission in your will or trust.

When you make a testamentary gift, it is very important to include the full name of the charity concerned. The full name of our organization is: AnimEscale.
How to name AnimEscale in your will
There are many ways to designate a charitable gift in your will. Below are some examples of wording for a specific charitable gift. You may consult your accountant, lawyer or banker for other and possibly better ways to express your bequest of a donation.
1. You may leave all or part of the remainder (residue) of your estate:
...to pay or transfer ______ per cent of the residue of my estate to AnimEscale.
2. You may leave a specific asset:
...If at the time of my death, I am still the registered owner of [fill in name and number of shares here] common shares to pay and transfer such shares to AnimEscale

You can pick one of our pictures below or we can also personalize the certificate using your own picture that you can email us. For example, you may want us to print on the card the picture of a new-born child for a Christening donation. Pictures must be in the Jpeg format. Do not hesitate to mention your specific instructions in your email and we will adapt the card accordingly.

Why and for whom you donate
How is my tax credit calculated?
With the federal, the first 200 $ give right 16% of credit, and any additional dollar is credited to 29%. In Quebec, the credit is established in 20% for the first 2000 $, and 24% for the surplus. You could also be acceptable with a provincial tax credit. The amount of the credit of provincial tax varies according to the province.
Donations must be made by December 31st to be claimed against your income for the current year. However, you do not have to claim all of the donations you made this year on your current-year return. You can carry forward any donations you do not claim in the current year and claim them on your return for any of the next five years. You can only claim donations once.
You have to claim tax credits for gifts you carried forward from a previous year before you claim tax credits for gifts in the current year. If you are claiming a carryforward, attach a note to your return indicating the year of the return with which you submitted the official donation receipt, the portion of the eligible amount you are claiming this year, and the amount you are carrying forward.
